Prior to founding VMG Communications, she served as Communications Director for the Minnesota Supreme Court and the state’s judiciary. In this position she was responsible for all internal and external communications of the state’s Judicial Branch. She managed all media relations and high-profile trials; helped develop legislative strategy; wrote speeches; managed award-winning community outreach programs; and served as faculty in “New Judge School” and the state’s Judicial College.
She was aide and press secretary to former Minnesota Gov. Arne H. Carlson. As press secretary, she directed communications for the Executive Branch and acted as the Governor’s spokesperson; developed message, public policy and issues strategy; and helped develop/managed the promotion of several Governor’s initiatives.
Other communications experience includes being communications director for a congressional campaign and director of communications for the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she has a decade-long broadcast background in radio, including serving as a co-producer for Minnesota Public Radio’s daily “Midmorning” show.
She graduated from Minnesota State University – Moorhead with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Economics. She completed her final quarter of college through an exchange program at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, England. |
