Governor Tom Vilsack entered into a Transformation Partnership with PSG in 2002.
NY: Dept of Transportation (NYSDOT)
Commissioner Joe Boardman has challenged his department to transform NYSDOT, based on the changing nature of trade, transportation, and technology. PSG won the contract to assist NYSDOT with this process and began work in summer, 2002.
MN: State Services for the Blind
State Services for the Blind, a Minnesota State Agency, was challenged to increase the placement rate of sight impaired people into meaningful jobs. PSG assisted SSB in a variety of ways including strategic planning, workforce development outcomes, and redesign.
IL: Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS)
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) began a strategic management initiative in August 1994. It contracted with the The Public Strategies Group and the Child Welfare Institute to assist with the development of this management initiative. Public trust in DCFS had fallen to very low levels in the previous six years. In fact, DCFS was operating under a federal court-ordered consent decree as the result of a lawsuit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of children in the Illinois child protection and welfare system.
NY: Office of Real Property Services (ORPS)
PSG has had two extensive contracts with ORPS. The first was commissioned to develop a design for achieving and maintaining property tax equity - statewide. The second contract asked PSG to assist ORPS develop an improved approach for building skills within NY communities to assess property and maintain equity.
WA: Governor Gary Locke's Office of Financial Management (OFM)
The State of Washington under Governor Gary Locke was the first in the nation to use a Priorities of Government approach to budgeting. This project is described in PSG partners David Osborne and Peter Huchinson's book The Price of Government: Getting the Results We Need in an Age of Permanent Fiscal Crisis.
