PSG was hired to design a “one-stop” health information system for citizens across the state of Minnesota. Given the complexities of the healthcare system and the growing differences between health care plans, the Department of Health requested consulting assistance to develop a design for a statewide information system that would help consumers navigate their health care options, independent of whether they currently insured.
To develop the design, PSG conducted approximately thirty interviews with legislators and other policy makers, health care experts, and advocacy groups. PSG then organized and lead two day-long design sessions that included a dozen participants in each session from a wide variety of backgrounds and differing levels of expertise related to health care.
The project design became a legislative initiative in the 2000 legislative session. PSG provided advice to DOH on developing the legislative request.
