Sacramento County, California
Between May 2005 and June 2006, PSG assisted Sacramento County Administrative Services in their efforts to identify best practices and benchmarks to improve the efficiency of the delivery of county services while continuing to meet the business needs of the County and its agencies and departments.
New York City Department of Finance
The Public Strategies Group and the New York City Department of Finance have worked together to develop and implement a strategy that focuses everyone on the Finance's mission: to help people pay the right amount on time. With PSG's assistance, Finance has developed an agency wide and divisional performance management system, trained hundreds of managers in techniques of results based management, undertaken dramatic culture change and focused employees on either delivering great service to their customers or on working with compliers to build voluntary compliance with the city's tax and parking laws.
City of Denver, Colorado
This project represented the first time that the basic principles of Budgeting for Outcomes were applied to capital rather than operating dollars. The City of Denver had more capital requests than resources. Following the use of focus groups to help establish the results citizens valued most, teams were created from staff throughout the City to develop overall measures and strategies for delivering those results.
Hennepin County, Minnesota
In 1991, the Minneapolis Foundation retained The Public Strategies Group (then Armajani, Hutchinson & James, Inc.) to analyze the budget of Hennepin County from a "customer" or citizen's perspective. Hennepin County is Minnesota's largest county, while the Minneapolis Foundation is the major community foundation in the state.
