| EGYPT: Middle East Desalination Research Center
The Middle East Desalination Research Center (MEDRC) was conceived out of the Middle East Multilateral Peace Process and is designed to fill a crucial role in achieving a lasting piece in the region through improved development and more rational management of the regional water resources. The Public Strategies Group worked with the Executive Council of MEDRC to develop a strategic focus for long term financial sustainability. Financial sustainability was identified as one of the most critical issues for the Center.
POLAND:Evaluating the Democratic Governance and Local Administration Project in Poland
The Public Strategies Group performed the year one monitoring and evaluation of the USAID funded Democratic Governance and Local Administration (DGLA) Project in Warsaw, Poland. DGLA was established as a performance contract which was to produce increased competence in Polish local governance.
ESTONIA:Performance Based Budgeting for Local Governments
The Public Strategies Group delivered a series of workshops about performance based budgeting to stimulate the development of the Estonian local budget process. The one day workshop was delivered in four cities across Estonia - Narva, Viljandi, Parnu, and Tartu. PSG worked as a subcontractor to Development Alternatives Incorporated on an USAID funded initiative for Eastern Europe.
EGYPT:Alexandria General Organization for Sanitary Drainage (AGOSD)
The purpose of the project was to transform the sanitary drainage organization serving the governor of Alexandria, Egypt from a unit of the central Government of Egypt bureaucracy into an independent economic authority. The Public Strategies Group worked as a subcontractor for Metcalf and Eddy International, on a USAID institutional strengthening contract. PSG implemented a strategic change process and a management training program to support change for the Alexandria General Organization for Sanitary Drainage (AGOSD).
